Tecovas is celebrating Hispanic culture by collaborating with Mi Golondrina — a Mexican fashion brand expanding on centuries of tradition and artistry.
Where rich cultural heritage meets modern design, you’ll find Mi Golondrina — a fashion brand centered around Mexican artistry that carries the torch of tradition, one garment at a time. Mi Golondrina Founder, Cristina Lynch, has put a spotlight on customary Mexican craftsmanship, employing over 850 skilled artisans to create uniquely embroidered apparel and accessories that celebrate Mexican artistry on an international stage.
Further expanding the brand’s reach, Mi Golondrina recently collaborated with Tecovas, bringing forth a tasteful collection of Western goods to the market that highlighted exclusive embroidered pieces.
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re immersing ourselves in the Mi Golondrina story, where Lynch’s cultural roots meet her passion for creating beautiful fashions for the modern woman.
C&I: How would you describe modern Mexican style?
Cristina Lynch: For me, modern Mexican style is about finding the perfect balance between honoring traditional Mexican embroidery and the incredible craftsmanship of artisan women, while also staying deeply connected to our customer needs. It’s about creating clothing that not only showcases heritage and artistry but also makes people feel joyful and confident in what they wear.
C&I: Tell us about the design process and how the artisans play a part.
Lynch: Our design process is very collaborative, and we aim to release about two collections per month to keep things fresh and exciting for our customers. A key part of this process is maintaining constant communication with our artisan partners and community leaders in Mexico. Their input is essential, as we want to ensure that the designs align not only with our vision but also with their skills and enthusiasm. It’s important to us that the artisans are as excited to create each piece as we are to share it, so their craftsmanship and passions are truly at the heart of everything we make.
C&I: What inspired the collaboration between Mi Golondrina and Tecovas, and how did it come to life?
Lynch: I have always been a big fan of Tecovas. Paul Hedrick, the founder, went to a nearby school in Dallas, and I kept hearing about its growth. I loved visiting the store in Austin, and their commitment to their brand is beautiful. I was also so excited to learn that the boots were made in Mexico. There are so many similarities between our brands and I was excited to bring this collaboration to life. Growing up visiting my grandfather’s ranch in Mexico, I always loved wearing boots and was enchanted by the vaquero culture. The cowboys at my grandfather’s ranch were so talented, and I enjoyed learning from them.
C&I: What specific elements of Mexican heritage and craftsmanship are featured in this collection, and how do they celebrate your brand’s story?
Lynch: Every Mi Golondrina piece celebrates Mexican heritage, and what excites me most about collaborations is the opportunity to share that culture even more widely. We partner with artisans across various communities, each contributing techniques that are deeply rooted in their traditions. For instance, the embroidery on the midi dress is a design that has been passed down for over 200 years. In these communities, the knowledge of this craft spans generations, from grandmothers to granddaughters.

C&I: What are your thoughts on the importance of cultural fusion in fashion?
Lynch: When I think about cultural fusion, I’m reminded of how essential it is for us to connect with and appreciate other cultures. My mother is Mexican, and I grew up deeply immersed in Mexican traditions. This brand is, at its core, a celebration of my love for Mexican culture. Through our collaborations, we share that passion while creating a space where different cultural elements can come together in a meaningful and beautiful way.
C&I: What would you like for women to know about Mi Golondrina?
Lynch: What’s most important to me is that Mi Golondrina is a celebration of Mexico and the incredible women behind the brand. Each of the 800 artisans we collaborate with has a unique story, and I believe you can truly feel their pride and craftsmanship in every piece. When you wear our designs, you’re not just wearing a garment — you’re connecting with the tradition, culture, and the heart of the women who create them.
