Bailey Chase, Bruce Boxleitner, Martin Kove and A Martinez loom large in the new Western premiering Sunday on the digital/cable channel.
We’re counting the days to the Sunday premiere of Far Haven, the new Western starring Bailey Chase of Longmire, on INSP.
Filmed in and around Arizona’s famed Mescal Movie Set, and originally shown on the Cowboy Way Channel, Far Haven has Chase cast as Hunter Braddock, a former cavalryman who chose to desert rather than participate in his unit's massacre of innocent Native Americans. Years later, the disgraced Braddock tries to reconnect with his estranged children in the frontier town of Far Haven — and arrives just in time to get caught in the crossfire as a greedy businessman (Martin Kove) and his hand-picked sheriff (Chris Mulkey) scheme to grab the land of Ben Watkins (Bruce Boxleitner), the father of Braddock's decreased wife and caretaker of the ex-cavalryman’s children. Abraham Chavez (A Martinez), the town’s blacksmith, proves to be an invaluable ally for Braddock — who appreciates all the help he can get.
Far Haven turned out to be a reunion for Chase with his former Longmire co-star A Martinez.
Bruce Boxleitner was pleased to return to the Mescal Movie Set — where, as he told C&I in an on-location interview, he had filmed a passel of previous Westerns. In Far Haven, he portrays a decent man facing long odds while trying to maintain control of his land.
