Maren Morris travels back to her roots as her she joins the entertainment lineup at The American Western Weekend, which kicked off on March 8, 2023, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The Grammy-nominated country superstar closed out The American Contender Tournament Finals on Thursday, March 9 with her visionary modern style and catchy hits.
Bursting onto the country music scene with her honest lyrics, incredible vocals, and undeniable stage presence, made her way to the top of the charts and awards stages in record time, scoring Grammy nominations for her third album, Humble Quest; her Gold-certified lead single “Circles Around This Town,”; her four-time Platinum-certified single, “The Bones,”; and her Platinum-certified duet, “Chasing After You,” which she wrote and recorded with husband Ryan Hurd.

The hit single “Chasing After You” also garnered a CMA nomination after topping the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for 19 consecutive weeks and becoming the first solo female multiweek No. 1 in country radio since 2012. The single ultimately scored the dynamic songstress Song of the Year and Female Artist of the Year at the 2021 ACM Awards, Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year at the CMA Awards, and Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year at the 2020 ACM Awards.
Morris' Humble Quest debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and broke the record for most first-day and first-week streams globally on Amazon Music for a country album by a female artist, with the album's hit single “Circles Around This Town” breaking Amazon Music's record for most streams for a country song debut by a female artist.
While her music has touched the lives of country fans nationwide, Morris has always remained a hometown girl at heart, making her a fitting complement to the exhilarating in-arena sports action at the American Western Weekend.
And she was in good musical company.
During The 2023 American Performance Horseman event, fans were treated to over two hours of live music from country legends Sheryl Crow, Darius Rucker, and Ghost Hounds. And then on Saturday, March 11, 2023, they were treated to an extended performance from multi-Platinum award-winning country musician Cody Johnson.
