American country band Runaway June met through songwriting in Nashville. Lead singer and guitarist Naomi Cook, singer and mandolin player Hannah Mulholland, and singer and guitarist (and granddaughter of John Wayne) Jennifer Wayne each had solo careers — and a shared love of vocals-driven acoustic soul.
They banded together in three-part harmony and, with Rebecca Lynn Howard, wrote their 2016 debut single, “Lipstick,” earning a spot in the Top 40. Since then, Runaway June have been climbing up the charts and into people’s hearts.
The trio recently released a new single, “Wild West,” from their upcoming debut album.
